Why do I receive an “Invalid credentials” error when trying to log in to Prolaborate using my Active Directory (AD) account?
If you get an “Invalid credentials” error when logging into Prolaborate with your Active Directory (AD) account, try this:
- Username: Enter your AD User Logon Name in the Email/Username field.
- Password: Use your AD password.
Double-check these details, and you should be able to log in successfully without error.
How do I troubleshoot Active Directory (AD) authentication issues in Prolaborate?
If users are unable to log in using Active Directory credentials, follow the steps below to systematically identify and resolve the issue:
- Verify AD Server Status:
- Ensure that the AD server is up and running. Network disruptions or server outages may prevent Prolaborate from authenticating users.
- Validate Affected User Accounts:
- Confirm that the impacted user accounts exist in AD.
- Check whether the accounts are active, unlocked, and not disabled.
- Ensure users are entering the correct credentials.
- Check AD Group Configuration:
- Verify that all AD group names configured in Prolaborate are unique.
- Duplicate group names can cause authentication mismatches—rename any duplicates at the AD level and update Prolaborate accordingly.
- Review Recent Changes
- Investigate any recent changes to group policies, user accounts, or server maintenance on the AD side.
- Rollback or adjust changes that may have inadvertently affected user access.
- Collect and Analyze Prolaborate Logs
- Go to the Prolaborate installation directory and retrieve logs with the logging level set to INFO.
- These logs provide detailed messages that can help pinpoint issues with AD integration.
- Share the logs to support@prolaborate.com and elaborate the issue.
